Throughout the year, YMCA Camp Eberhart offers a variety of programs for children, adults and groups. Our programs are great for groups of all sizes looking for a fun and unique experience together.
Adventure Education facilitates effective team building and motivation. YMCA Camp Eberhart will design programs that meet your needs and help achieve the goals of your group. We offer several program options designed to build self-esteem, promote leadership and teamwork, and encourage respect for one's self and for others. YMCA Camp Eberhart uses the "Voluntary Participation" philosophy in all Adventure programs. No one is coerced or forced to attempt anything that he/she does not want to do. We do, however, make every attempt to encourage individuals to achieve goals that initially they thought were not possible.
YMCA Camp Eberhart's horse programs combine experienced horses, qualified staff, and excellent facilities to create a positive atmosphere where campers can focus on horses. These programs allow campers the opportunity to advance their horseback riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge, and enjoy riding with friends. With featuring more than 20 well trained horses of a variety of breeds, sizes and personalities, YMCA Camp Eberhart offers horseback riding options for youth and adults of all ages and skill levels! All Camp Eberhart horseback riding programs are instructed by "kid friendly" first aid/CPR certified staff. Our goal is to teach participants the fundamentals of riding while developing skills, coordination, confidence and self-esteem.
Our Outdoor Education program currently affects over 2,000 local students each Spring and Fall. During their two to five day stay at YMCA Camp Eberhart, students experience school in a new environment. We have a range of classes which correspond with their school curriculum and can be adapted for the 4th to 7th grade level by our excellent Outdoor Education instructors. Many of the classes relate closely to the curriculum for both MEAP testing in Michigan and ISTEP testing in Indiana. Much of our curriculum is teamwork and education-based, but we can always find a little time for recreational activities such as Canoeing or Archery
